Greetings

The Ross Lynn Charitable Foundation invites you to join an online community of writers led in conjunction with noted writer & teacher, Robert Benson

This exciting new endeavor will entail:

  • monthly live online small group sessions with peers led by Robert

  • readings and critique of written work

  • “New Words on Words” (teachings about what’s new from Robert)

  • discounted video teaching sessions adapted from his in-person workshop, Dancing on The Head of a Pen

  • and other opportunities to grow in the writing craft and creative skills.

This community is for those seeking accountability, encouragement, and exploration to grow in the discipline of writing, learn new writing practices, and enhance one’s writing life.

The Ross Lynn Foundation

Hello Friends,

This new opportunity, this new thing that we are trying to do with you and with others, is to figure out a way for us to be in touch with each other on a regular basis. So that we can read to each other from our work and we can listen to other people’s work. And then, we can contribute to that work simply by listening and observing.

I have always found it terribly helpful to read my work aloud to people. In my own ear I can tell whether or not it’s working, but I can also tell whether or not it’s working by looking at the faces of those who are listening to the work. In this particular new way that we’re doing this thing, you’re going to have a chance to read your work, you’re going to get feedback on your work, which will help you as you rewrite and rewrite and rewrite. Which is what it always takes to make something better. So, that’s what this whole online gathering is about, it’s for us to be able to read our work and hear feedback from our work — good, bad, or indifferent. And that will help us make our work better.

Namaste,

R. Benson
