Welcome to the North Louisiana Arts Interchange!
We are excited to venture into this journey with all of you and can’t wait to see what the experience brings. My name is Ryan Botts (He/Him) and I am the Associate Director of Programming for the Ross Lynn Charitable Foundation. This program is in its fifth year and has been built on what we’ve learned from all our virtual programming since 2020! We’ve seen a lot of really rich interactions and relationships develop from this program and I can’t wait to move forward with y’all in this iteration of our experiential arts programming.
What you need to know...
The North Louisiana Arts Interchange officially begins on March 16th with our first Zoom huddle followed by the in-person kick off event at the Gilbert Center in Lincoln Parish (301 N Trenton St. STE 3 Ruston, LA 71270). The program kick off will be a casual event Saturday (March 21st) at 3pm. We will have light refreshments. This will be an opportunity for everyone to:
-meet each other face to face
-find out a little bit about one another
-learn more about the Ross Lynn Foundation & Gilbert Center
-preview the gallery you’ll eventually be showing in and get an overview of the program
We will also talk a little about the Enneagram as a tool for interpersonal relationships & self understanding and how we plan to use it during this year’s experience. If you’re not already familiar with the Enneagram and interested in exploring it on your own before we meet, I would recommend you read through the descriptions and learning pages on this site: https://www.enneagraminstitute.com/how-the-enneagram-system-works/
(I do not recommend you take the test, there are other ways to understand yourself in relation to the system that we’ll share later). The RLCF staff has found the Enneagram incredibly useful as an aide for managing our shared work and relationships within the organization.
There will be time for each of y’all to share about yourself and your craft so I encourage you to bring a couple of samples of your work (if possible) so that everyone can better understand your practice. I strongly encourage you to attend this to get us started off strong, but if you are unable to attend, please let me know in advance.
In the meantime, we will create a resource page on the Ross Lynn Foundation website that will include important links, recordings of the zoom huddles, information on each week’s schedule, and quick bios on each participant. I will be building this page and will send you the link once it is ready!
The first zoom huddle is Monday, March 16th at 6pm Central. We will use the same zoom room for each week’s huddles so it should be easier to keep up with. I have included the zoom invitation below my signature.
During the first week’s Zoom huddle, we will cover the structure, expectations, the Enneagram in more depth, and answer any questions you may have. You’ll receive a reminder email 24 hours before the huddle with the link.
