The Foundation brings to our community individuals who live their lives in challenging ways and have responded to a deep sense of call to live out of their talents and passions in ways that serve the greater good. Our first forum was held in the Fall of 2016 with world class climber Conrad Anker and wife Jenny Lowe Anker, Founding Director of the Alex Lowe Charitable Foundation. Join our email list and follow us on FaceBook so you will know when our next forum is scheduled.
The Foundation is committed to bringing into the area Master Teachers and Artists who want to spend time in an intentional community to cultivate the arts and the artist within. Our first workshop in April of 2017 brought together writers who spent a week Cultivating the Writer Within! Guiding the Artist-in-Residence event was Published Author and Master Teacher Robert Benson. Future workshops are being planned. Be sure you are on our email list and you follow us on FaceBook so you will know when our next offering is scheduled.
Our pilgrimages will be to sites in the US that take us into nature and invite us to unplug and breathe, listen and de-stress. explore and create. The intent will be to consider compassion for oneself, for place and for others. Pilgrimage director Lisa Frost of Baton Rouge leads pilgrimages annually to Ireland and will be leading ours to Montana in 2018. Be sure you are on our email list and follow us on FaceBook so you will know when our plans are finalized.
grants and scholarships
Perhaps the heart and soul of the outreach of the Foundation is found in the Grants and Scholarships we give to individuals and non-profits whose mission and work matches ours. Pictured here are some of the students of Stoner Hill Lab School in Shreveport who participated in the canoe day as part of the Bayou to Bay Caddo Outdoor Eduction Water Stewardship Program.

Give for Good
Each May the Foundation participates in the Shreveport Community Foundation Give for Good Day. It is a day of encouraging online giving and the cultivation of individual donors, while giving area non-profits the opportunity to tell their stories. We are fortunate to have Breathe Yoga offer proceeds of the classes held on Give for Good Day to us. There are also funds through the program that match the donations received by the non-profits that are given by corporate sponsors.
