Taken in Nepal 2005

Ross traveled to Nepal many times with the Alex Lowe Charitable foundation to Phortse where they worked and lived among the villagers teaching the annual classes of the Khumbu Climbing School.*

These cultural, iconic installations of prayers chiseled in stone are found across the Himalayan landscape…a constant reminder of the ancient culture abiding there.

*The Khumbu School is a school teaching English as a second language and mountain rescue skills to Sherpa. The Mission of this project of the ALCF is to improve the safety of climbs in the region and help improve the life expectancy of Sherpa who guide these ascents. Ross traveled with them multiple times to be on the team.
