A work reflecting Ross Lynn's life, the Ross Lynn Foundation's passion is to carry on his legacy through its programs, scholarships and grants.

Ross was born and raised on the family farm in Louisiana, and shaped as a young man by the sweeping mountain ranges of the West. It was in Montana where he learned to climb and found a passion for world travel. He shared a rope with many of the top mountaineers in the world on climbing trips that took him to six continents and the highest peaks in South America and the Himalaya.

Ross spent countless hours in the workshop chiseling with his hands as a blossoming artist and craftsman. His artistry transcended various mediums and styles, from abstract iron sculptures, to photography, writing and music.

Yoga and meditation guided Ross in his spiritual journey later in life. As a contemplative and student of Richard Rohr and Thomas Merton, Ross lived out of a deepeningfaith with gratitude and presence.

His rhythm of life was grounded in peace and profound love, and he found expression through a quiet responsiveness of serving the greater good. Inspired by Ross' life we offer this Foundation to invite and challenge others to do the same.

The Guiding Principle of the Foundation is to create opportunities where...

  • challenge, adventure and exploration foster self discovery

  • participants cultivate and nurture their gifts and sense of purpose

  • out of their experience, they are invited and encouraged to offer it to others

We bring together people in unique ways that nurture mindfulness, grace and connectedness.  We invite them to live a compassionate life as Ross did; learning more about themselves, their environment and their neighbor.
